Security Module Update routines

The Module Update routine starts out looking like this:

From time to time, as an administrator of this system, you will get calls from your employees, saying that they can't get into a certain module.  Their monitor will be denying them access and also giving them the module (program name). If you, as administrator, decide to allow them access, you will type the name of the module exactly as they give it to you into the line following the prompt "ENTER MODULE NAME".  You must be careful here because there is no system check done of the name that you enter, so if you type it wrong, your employee will still not be able to access the program that is needed.

Once you type in the module name a record is opened (whether new or existing), and the following screen is displayed.  Our example here shows an existing record in our TEST account.  Yours will be different.

Notice the module name is "Pos_Add_Contract".  This happens to be the program that controls the adding of a customer contract or invoice to the system.  Listed underneath is a numbered column with employee codes already present.  These are either the personnel or Members groups who have the authority to add an invoice to the system.  We show 3 users or groups, but you might add "SALES" to allow access by all sales personnel.  So, then if you hire a new sales person, all you have to do is set them up as a user and add "SALES" to their Members group list, and your work is done.

Notice the command line:

F)ile, D)elete record,S)equence,P)rev/N)ext page,A)dd/K)ill a line,@)abort  [ ]

You may enter "F" to file this record.

You may enter "D" to delete this whole record.

You may enter "S" to sequence through all fields to add or edit information

If you have a lot of users, you might have more than fit on the screen, so you can enter "N" to go to the next page or "P" to go to the previous page

You may enter "K" and then specify the line number that you want to delete.  In this module you must enter as "1.1"

If your cursor is at the end of the command line, and you just want to add one user, enter "A" to add a line.  If you have several, then use the sequence command, and start at the last item in the record.  There is also a hidden command "I" to allow you to Insert a code before a specified line.

If you decide that all the changes you have made are not correct and you just want to exit, enter "@"
