Grendata Computer Systems
Company Name
This is the input screen that you will see if you depress 1 from the Global Utilities menu.

Each field is designated by a number on this screen but other screens might also designate fields with an Alpha Character (A - Z).
Field #1 is shown as :
1. Company Name GRENDATA COMPUTER SYSTEMS
The 1. is the field designator, Company Name is the field description and GRENDATA COMPUTER SYSTEMS is the data in the field (i.e. your company name).
Editing of this field is simple. Have a look at the prompt at the bottom of the screen :
F)ile, D)el, S)eq, E)dit, N)ext/Prev pg, A)dd/I)nsert/K)ill line, @)abort :
Each command that you can use is the character in front of the ")". In other words E)dit indicates that in order to edit, you would type the letter E. Once you do this, the system will prompt you for the field designator "Enter the item number (to edit) ". At this point ENTER 1 .
Once you have edited everything that you want to edit, you may F)ile the record and all changes will be saved or you may @)abort the routine and save nothing. In either case you will be returned to the menu that you used to access this routine in the first place.
Items 2 & 3 (address lines) are free form, and anything can be entered here.
Item 4, City is self explanatory, and prov/state is also.
Postal Code/Zip code is somewhat self-correcting. For example, in Canada, we have a code that matches "1A1N1A 1N1A1N", where A means any alpha character and N means any numeric character, and the sets of 3 are separated by a space. If you type in a code matching the pattern, but don't enter a space, the system will put the space in for you. If you enter a code that does not match the numeric/alpha pattern, it will be rejected. If you enter a code that is either 7 or 10 numbers, it will assume a USA code and accept that too.
The two master phone numbers are also self correcting, but you must either match the pattern of "3N-3N-4N" OR "10N". If you enter 10 numbers, the system will insert the "-" for you. Any other entry should be rejected.
The email address and Website fields are free form and your responsibility to get it right
There is also a space below where you may fill in as many other phone numbers and extensions as you like, but these will not appear on any standard reports.
Finally, you will see fields 11 & 12 which pertain strictly to Accounts Receivable. Please ignore these for the time being as they will be moved to a more appropriate module.
