Update Statement Control Flags
When you choose option # 8 from the Accounts Receivable Utilities Menu, you will arrive at this screen.

These flags are used as defaults whenever a statement is produced in an automatic routine where the operator cannot specify how to print the statement.
There are four fields to complete
Each time you edit a field, the acceptable responses will be displayed at the bottom of the screen.
1. Either a Z or a B is required here. If you type a B then your customer statements will be produced with a balance forward from the last statement date specified. If you type a Z, then your customer statements will be produced with all transactions from the last time your customer actually had a zero balance. In the case where statements are produced automatcially such as within the shipping delivery documents printing routine, the starting date is calculated as 2 months prior to the date that the statements are produced.
2. Either a P or a D is required here. If you type a P, the bottom line aging will appear on the customer statements, otherwise it will not. Some clients prefer not to print this aging because it "implies" that they have terms when in fact they prefer to have full payment at time of delivery.
3. There are 5 posible responses here. P)ositive, N)egative, A)ll, pO)sitive and zero balances, nE)gative and zero balances. Statements will be produced only if the balance owing matches the response that you have entered.
4. Either a D or an S is required here. If you type D , the the body of the Statement will show one line for every transaction that has transpired. If you choose summary, then all lines with the same reference will be summarized and printed as one line on the statement. For example if you have a split delivery for an invoice, you might have several entries on the detailed statement for this invoice (one for each invoiced delivery). However , if you choose to print Summarized statements, the system will total up all entries for that invoice number and print it as one line.
