Delete Offerings

When you choose "3. Delete Offerings" from the Offerings Menu, you will arrive at this screen.

Notice that this routine expects you to enter an envelope number again.  Entering an "@" exits the program.

As soon as you enter an envelope number, the members name appears so that you may verify that you have the right record, and then you must supply a date for an offering that you wish to delete.

We entered the same date as we used in our help screen for Post and Offering, and behold, that is the offering that shows up on our screen as shown here.

You now have the option to answer the question with D)elete this offering or do N)ot delete.

Please note that there is no partial deletion available.  So, if you were posting for April 1, and posted an offering by mistake to the wrong member and then attempted to use the delete routine, you will find that you must delete both the legitimate one as well as the bad one, and then repost the legitimate one.  This is an incentive to not make a mistake.  (That's a joke, we will attempt to remedy in a future release so that you can choose which items in an offering that you want to delete.)

All deletions show up on reports as reverse sign.  Therefore if it is May and you delete an offering from March.  The adjustment shows up in your May books.  This is standard bookkeeping practice.
